The schedule for the games of semi final and beyond will be worked on daily basis and participating houses will be informed regularly. We hope to finalize it by the end of Day 4. We urge the house captains to be in touch with the organizers in this regard.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR SPORTS WEEK 2009

  1. Every student should show sportsmanship during the event.
  2. Every House should follow the standard rules and regulations of every game given by the organizer.
  3. Every team should be present 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match in their respective fields. In case of late arrival the opponent will be autonomously granted a by in the organizers decision.
  4. Every player should take care of the Sports Kits they are using.
  5. Only House captains are allowed to take the Sports Kits for the practice session from the store section with the permission of the respective coordinators. Responsibility of any Sports Kits should be taken by the concerned captains for loss or damage of Sports Kits. The Sports Kits taken should be handed at the time allocated by the Store In charge.
  6. Other students willing to take the Sports Kits should come with the concerned captains.
  7. Only Coordinators are allowed to take the Sports Kits from the store besides House captains.
  8. Scores will be provided for each win on following basis which will decide the position of each houses:

  1. No Players are allowed to play in the playground in case found using alcoholic and prohibited items. There may be the case of banning the team.
  2. Foul languages would not be entertained.
  3. No personal hooting could be made against the players.
  4. Players should carry their Identity card(esp. for Schools beside central college)
  5. Any Players if suspected to be out of the University can be asked to show the Identity card by the organizer if required.
  6. Players failing to prove himself/herself as KU student may lead to Disqualify of the team and deduction of overall house points.
  7. Students should play for the House allocated by the organizer. House transmission would not be entertained, if found may result the Disqualify and deduction of overall House points.
  8. If any problems arise besides this Code of Conduct, the Decision of the organizing committee will be the final decision.

The players of the Houses can participate in at most two games.

SPORTS WEEK 2009

Project Overview: Sports Week 2009: Leadership for Sportsmanship is going to be organized on 8th – 15th March 2009, in Kathmandu University premises. During the Sports Week, KUSC will focus on multidimensional development of students. It is expected that this event will provide opportunities to students to flourish their leadership and sportsmanship qualities.
KUSC will utilize participants who are students of KU. Each student will be expected to participate in the week long program.

Background
Sports week is one of the grand events that this university has been organizing for a long time. KUSC has played the major role in successful organization with the help of the University and the Student Welfare Council in recent times.

Goals & Objectives
The major goals of “Sports Week 2009” will be to:
• Facilitate students with sporting events
• Help students explore their leadership qualities
• Multidimensional development of students
• To help students understand each other better
• To initiate feeling of sportsmanship

Methods
The primary methods for achieving the goals will be:
• Organizing as many sporting events as possible so that maximum number of students can participate.
• Many others will be encouraged in participation through volunteering.
• Students will be given opportunities to lead various groups as per their capabilities.

Structure or organizing committee
The organizing committee will have following structure.

President: Responsible for overall preparation, conduction and management of the event successfully.

Coordinators: For each sporting event. Responsible for successful conduction of every game of respective sport.

Chief-Volunteer: responsible for the proper placement of each and every volunteer for every game.

Volunteers: Responsible for making proper environment for successful conduction of the event.
Advisory Board: For providing necessary and timely advices for successful event as per their experiences.
